On day 1 we drove down to Pismo Beach from the Bay Area. The main tourist attraction Highway 1 along Big Sur was out of the question because you can’t get through right now due to a landslide. The last couple of years this has been a pretty regular occurrence but it sure is beautiful when it is open.

So on this fine day we took 101 instead and stopped at the Sculpterra Winery & Sculpture Garden in Paso Robles. It was a nice break from the road and the adults had a glass of wine while wandering through the gardens.

There are quite a few sculptures in the garden and it’s really beautiful out there

The best thing? Probably the late afternoon sun on the fall leaves. It’s magic right there.

So many animal themed sculptures! I love it!

There was also a horse, an elephant, a rhino and buffalos that I remember off the top of my head. Pretty amazing.

Wow, that looks like a stunning place to spend an afternoon wandering around and enjoying all the countryside, but all that great art too. Oh, plus a glass of wine as well. How neat is that.

Very neat! And the wine was pretty tasty, too.

That tree is the best sculpture in my opinion. Such a beautiful sight and the light…

They had a platform under the tree I am assuming for ceremonies. Very beautiful.

How cool. Are these sculptures made by the same artist? They have a similar vibe to me. Very steampunky. 🙂

As far as I can see it is four different artists.
